The past week was Amazing! I want to thank everyone in the Herbal Nerd Society for giving their support so generously through this Pandemic. Were it not for them, we wouldn't have had the funds to host the Herbs in Action Summit: COVID and Beyond last Friday. Were it not for them, we wouldn't have had the funds to purchase the Vimeo memberships and other production tools we need to offer free replays, too. The summit was a service for so many, offering a lot of folk the chance to learn more about how they can use home remedies and Plant medicines to protect and care for themselves and their families. The good news is, we are working on getting the replays produced. Patrick and I have had some huge learning opportunities on the summit road. It's been a terrific diversion from the stress of being under Shelter-at-home orders, and that diversion isn't quite over yet here. Our reality is, we're worried like everyone else about our financial and health future. The summit gave us, too, a ton of tools for protecting our health. Our hope was that in offering this information to the public we could help others like us reclaim a bit of their power around staying healthy. A majority of us are going to be living with COVID-19 for the rest of our lives. It's not going to vanish, at least not anytime soon. What Phyllis, Thomas, Maria, Larken, and Erika taught all of us is we have a lot more power to direct our own future and our own interactions with this virus than we might have otherwise thought. There is more Hope than despair, if only we choose to seize the tools Mother Nature has provided. This week, I'm taking a little more time to look at how I've been living my life. Where can I make small changes toward a healthier lifestyle? Which expectations no longer serve me...and how can I find what I really wanted by looking in another direction? Blessings, Candace and Patrick The Practical Herbalist Team P.S. Did you hear that The School for Aromatic Studies has re-opened? It'll be interesting to see how Jade Shutes shapes her online and on-farm courses over the next year! P.P.S. Click the Fire pic in this email to Join me for a sit by the fireside. |
